We recently came across an old 1970 advertisement showing a brand-new 40-gallon water heater selling for just $66.88. Hard to believe considering today’s water heaters can cost thousands of dollars!
So we thought we’d have some fun.
How to Enter:
If you think you have the oldest residential water heater at the Jersey Shore, complete the form below:
- A clear photo of your water heater
- A photo of the model/serial tag showing the manufacture date (if available)
- Your name, address and contact information.
Prize:
The homeowner with the oldest verified working residential water heater will receive:A brand-new standard replacement water heater installed for only $66.88 (Just like the old days!)

Contest is open to homeowners located in Monmouth & Ocean County
Important Conditions
- Existing water heater must currently be installed in a residential home.
- Water heater age must be verifiable by serial number, manufacturer tag, or other
acceptable proof. - Winner must own the property where the installation will take place.
- Prize applies to a standard residential replacement installation only.
- Any code upgrades, permit fees, relocation work, specialty venting, plumbing
modifications, or unforeseen repairs are not included and may be additional. - Installation must be performed by Rostron Premium Home Services.
- Contest winner must allow before/after photos and promotional use of submitted images.
- One entry per household.
Winner Selection
The winner will be determined based on the oldest verified manufacture date as determined solely by Rostron Premium Home Services. Winner will be announced July 15 th, 2026.
