Spring into Energy Savings with Tom Rostron — New Jersey’s Home Performance Expert!

Home performance includes all of our services: ACheating, hot water, air sealing, and insulation. At Tom Rostron, we approach home performance by looking at your house as an interconnected system in which mechanicals, inhabitants, and the building envelope are all interacting variables. Using this approach, we can identify the most pressing problems in your home, and fix them to maximize your comfort and decrease energy costs. As a Home Performance with ENERGY STAR® BPI Gold Star Contractor, Tom Rostron will not only perform top-quality home performance work, but will also provide you with financing and incentives to minimize your costs and increase energy savings.

How Do I Get Started With Home Performance?

A Home Energy Audit gives homeowners an overall performance check of the efficiency of their home to make sure it is delivering the comfort that it should. You can begin on the path of home performance with a no-obligation, FREE home energy audit. Our certified in NJ Clean Energy technicians use several diagnostic tools to determine where your home is wasting energy. Our team will also uncover the following:

  • Air Quality Issues
  • Safety check (carbon monoxide levels, improper venting, gas lines, moisture issues)
  • Comfort levels (drafts, cold and hot areas of the home)
  • Improper air sealing
  • Condition of current insulation
  • Heating and cooling system efficiency

At the end of your audit we’ll provide you with a detailed list of prioritized improvements and services that help you save energy and improve comfort in the home. Our customized report outlines the most pressing issues with your home’s performance, the cost of fixing the issues, and ways you can use the state and manufacturer rebates to help pay for the upgrades.

Take Advantage of NJ’s Incentive Programs!

From the Desk of Tom

It’s Spring, and our team is gearing up for one of the busiest times of the year. It’s maintenance season! Now is the perfect time to get your home prepped for the summer ahead. We all need a little reminder once in a while about having a maintenance appointment, and we’re here to make sure it gets checked off your spring cleaning list! We’ll make any necessary tweaks and adjustments to get your systems operating at peak performance, so we can all stay comfortable through the sweltering season ahead.

It’s Heating Up — Is Your AC Ready?

It’s hard to believe, but the New Jersey summer is right around the corner. Soon we’ll all be making the switch to using our cooling systems, and shutting down our heating systems for the season. Inevitably, there are cooling system complications that often come up after several long months of non-use. The Tom Rostron team is committed to quickly addressing these complications and working hard to prevent them in the future. As the temperatures rise, we routinely get calls from disgruntled homeowners about an AC system that has stopped working and families that are needlessly uncomfortable in their own homes. Fear not; conducting AC maintenance can help you avoid having a summer horror story of your own! This quick, inexpensive service gives you the peace of mind in knowing that your AC system will operate efficiently throughout the summer without the risk of an expensive and untimely breakdown. Give us a call to schedule your Spring AC Tune-up. Our certified technicians will make an assessment of your systems operation and change and clean anything that needs attention. We’ll be sure to leave you with a reliable AC system that will operate at its peak efficiency all summer long!

Spring Cleaning Checklist: Clean Your Dryer Vent!

As the seasons change and you think about your spring cleaning projects, don’t forget about your dryer vent! Throughout the year and the loads of laundry, dust and lint accumulates in your dryer vent. This is a big problem, since dirty dryer vents are a leading cause of fires in U.S. homes. Additionally, your dryer has to work overtime to compensate for the clog, costing you more every month. If your clothes are taking an unusually long time to dry, if it’s been over a year since your last dryer vent inspection, or if there is a strange smell coming from your dryer, it’s definitely time to call us. Our certified technicians know how important having a safe dryer vent is. Make cleaning your dryer vent a part of your spring cleaning this year and enjoy lower energy bills and better home safety!

Rostron Gives Back

Our team is committed to giving back to the community that has supported our growth over the years. In 2009, Tom Rostron Jr. established our Rostron Gives Back program to organize and further these community efforts.

We have a local church program where we place coupons in the church bulletin. If a member of your church purchases a system from us and presents the coupon, we will donate $150 to your place of worship. Thank you to everyone who participates in this program!

Since 2009, we have sponsored dozens of community programs and offered support to families and individuals in our neighborhoods. Every year, we donate a heating system to a New Jersey family in need. Our technicians donate their time and expertise to perform the installation!
