At Rostron Premium Home Services, we know that not every heating project is straightforward. Some homes present unique challenges that require careful planning, experienced technicians, and a willingness to build a solution around the home itself. Recently, our team completed a boiler replacement in Sea Girt, New Jersey, which is a perfect example of how thoughtful planning and quality workmanship can make a difference.
The challenge? A crawl space just over four feet tall, a five-zone heating system, and an opportunity to improve the homeowner’s space at the same time.
Building a Five-Zone Boiler System From Scratch
Working in a crawl space with just over four feet of clearance is no easy task. Space is limited, access is challenging, and every part of the installation needs to be carefully considered.
Our team essentially built this project from scratch, installing a new five-zone boiler system designed to serve the home’s heating needs. Each zone allows for separate control of designated areas of the home, while a dedicated zone serves the indirect water heater for domestic hot water.
Projects like this require more than simply swapping out an old boiler for a new one. The piping, layout, connections, and overall accessibility all matter. Our goal is to deliver a properly installed system that performs reliably and can be serviced and maintained in the years ahead.
Giving the Homeowner Her Closet Back
One of the biggest benefits of this project went beyond the new heating equipment.
Previously, the homeowner had a water heater located in a closet within her upstairs living space. That meant valuable closet space was being used to house equipment. As part of the new installation, we relocated the indirect water heater to the crawl space alongside the boiler system.
The result? The homeowner now has that upstairs closet space back.
Moving the equipment also brings the boiler and indirect water heater together in a more accessible location for future service and maintenance. It’s a practical improvement that makes better use of the home’s existing space while keeping the mechanical equipment in one designated area.
It’s a great example of how a heating replacement can be an opportunity to improve more than just the home’s comfort.
