Are you tired of having to deal with multiple heating and cooling systems in your Brick, Lakewood, or Jersey City home? Ductless mini split heat pumps are an ultra efficient option for homeowners throughout Monmouth and Ocean Counties here in New Jersey. Your home could upgrade to a single HVAC system that will make spending time inside during the summer more pleasant and lead to lower energy costs!
What Are Ductless Mini Splits?
Although you may have heard them called by many different names, including mini splits, ductless mini splits, or ductless heat pumps, mini splits are becoming increasingly popular as an all-electric HVAC system alternative for your home.
Ductless mini-splits consist of two main components, an indoor air handler/cassette and an outdoor condenser unit, and don’t require central ductwork to run: the indoor air handlers are installed in rooms throughout your home and deliver conditioned air directly to these areas.
In the summer, when the outdoor air is hot, mini split heat pumps extract heat from inside your home and transfer it outside via refrigerant lines, keeping you cool. This process is reversed in heating mode—a mini split can also extract heat from cold outdoor air (because even cold air contains some heat!) and transfer it inside to warm your house.
What Are the Benefits of a Ductless Mini Split?
Mini split heat pumps are so efficient that they actually produce several times more energy than they consume. Even the most efficient furnaces or boilers are still not able to even produce an equal amount of energy as they require to run.
No ductwork required
A central ductwork system will lose, on average, 20-30% of all conditioned air before it comes out of your vents and can make you comfortable. Ductless heat pumps avoid ductwork altogether, meaning you’ll benefit from 100% of the hot or cool air you’re paying to create.
Customized “zone” cooling
One of the benefits of having multiple air handlers installed throughout your home is that you can adjust the temperature on each unit so that different areas of your home are set to different temperatures. This can both save money and meet the heating and cooling needs of your entire family.
A year-round HVAC solution
Because of the dual heating and cooling modes, you can replace your entire HVAC system with mini split heat pumps. You’ll simplify the heating and cooling in your home while eliminating the use of fossil fuels.
